Home Renovation Steps
Step 1: Building Base Preparation
Before the slab is ready to be poured for your extension or renovation, the building base is laid out, excavated, filled, and levelled.
Some early stage plumbing and electrical work will also take place before the slab is poured.
Step 2: Building Frame
When the timber or steel frame is erected creating the shell of your new extension or renovation.
Step 3: Lock up Stage
When the lock up stage is complete your renovation or extension is secure and waterproofed. Starting from top to bottom trades will come in and complete jobs such as roof plumbing, roof tiling, electrical and plumbing rough ins, heating and cooling, brick laying, windows and door installations (even if they are not the permanent windows and doors).
This completes the lock up stage of your renovation, extension or new build.
Step 4: Extension Fixing
This is the pre- paint stage when the insulation is installed, architraves, cornices, skirting and plastering is completed, and doors to rooms and cabinets are installed. Choosing cost effective materials and fittings can be a great way to stick to a budget without compromising the quality of your renovation or extension.
All buildings works are completed in preparation for the last stage of your renovation/build.
Step 5: Renovation Completed
Your renovation or build is now ready for the final finishing touches. Everything from tiling, painting, caulking and sealing to electrical and plumbing fit offs are completed in this stage. Your newly renovated home is ready to be handed over to you after the final inspection takes place.
